Österbymo[1] is an urban area in Östergötland and central town in Ydre municipality. With 834 inhabitants in 2010, Österbymo is Sweden's smallest central town.

Getting to Österbymo
Relocation in Österbymo
Österbymo is a small town with walking distance to everything in the community. If you want to move out into the countryside, there are many nice bike paths.
Driving a car in Österbymo is largely problem-free and there are plenty of free parking spaces in connection with the various service facilities.
The distances within the town are short and there is rarely much car traffic in and around the community so cycling is a suitable means of transportation. However, there are no cycle paths and on the two major roads you should be careful, not least when there is some heavy traffic.

The only ATM in Österbymo is located at the entrance to Kinda-Ydre Sparbank. Cash can also be withdrawn at the checkout at Coop.
Accommodation
Ydregården just north of the community has between April and October every year rental of rooms and parking spaces for motorhomes and caravans. Just over 20 kilometers from Österbymo is located Ydrefors where the local community association runs a campsite with caravan and motorhome parking, tent sites and cottage rentals.
Food and drinks
Ydregården serves daily lunch on weekdays and á la carte on evenings and weekends.

Chicken exchange day
The second Saturday in June each year is organized Chicken exchange day in Ukereda on the northern outskirts of Österbymo. The event is primarily aimed at small animal enthusiasts with sales of, among other things, breeding animals, but there is also a market part with local crafts and serving. The visitors are mainly interested in animals and families with children.
