Eastern Europe.
During the Cold War, the countries under the influence of the Soviet Union were perceived as Eastern European. Nowadays (and in the past) many of these countries are counted instead Central Europe. Different sources use different definitions, e.g. so that Slavic and Orthodox countries would belong to Eastern Europe. Some of these are considered to belong here Balkans.
