Łobez (Greater Poland Voivodeship) - Łobez (województwo wielkopolskie)

Lobez is a small village located in the western part Jarocin County, in Jaraczewo commune. It is inhabited by about 240 people. The village was first mentioned in 1389, and its original name was Łobszowo.Among the meadows, about 1.5 km north of the village is located ring-shaped stronghold 35 m in diameter and up to 3 m high, dating from the 9th - 13th centuries. A settlement called Gorzycek, has a circumference of 120 m, and the height of the ramparts reaches 3 m. It is a remnant of a hillfort from the 9th-12th centuries. It is mentioned for the first time in a document from 1615. According to the local population, the stronghold was supposed to have a water connection with an underground tunnel with a stronghold near Cząszczewo, 7 km to the east.
