O Saint Efstratios (Ai Stratis) is his island North Aegean with 270 inhabitants (2011 census).

Generally

Its territory is hilly and to the right and left of the ridge that crosses from N. to N. the island are formed hills that extend to the sea with steeper cliffs on the eastern side of the island. The highest peaks are Simadi (298m.), Agios Alexis and Profitis Elias. Between the hills on the west side are formed small valleys that end on picturesque sandy beaches. The largest of all is the valley, where the only village is located.

The earthquakes of 1968 became the cause for the destruction of the picturesque settlement with windmills at the top of the small hill, where the inhabitants, following the traditional architecture of the Aegean, had built their houses. The current settlement built during the dictatorship of 1967 is spread over the valley. The inhabitants are mainly engaged in fishing and animal husbandry and often face, especially in winter, problems in communication with the other islands and the rest of Greece.
