How to get there
By air
By train
Itineraries to Palermo, Caltanissetta and Enna are served. The journey to Palermo takes two hours and costs € 7.45. Routes to Eastern Sicily do not exist or are very time consuming. THE railway station is in Piazza Marconi on the south edge of the old town.
By road
By bus / Itineraries go to Palermo, Kaltanissetta, Catania, Σιάκκα and near Heraklion Minoa. Some itineraries go to Laugh and Trapani via Mazara di Vallo, Marsala and Castelvetrano for Selinounta.
By boat
Daily dolphin itineraries in the summer go to the islands Lampedusa and Linseed. There is also a bus from the port Porto Ebedocle for Agrigento.

How to move
The center is paved with medieval streets and is easy to get to from the train station. For those who prefer the sidewalk, be careful in the summer, because it is hot.
The bus line runs regularly outside the train station, stops at the Archaeological Museum and other attractions.
What to see
- The plain of the temples (Archaeological and Paesaggistic Park of the Valle dei Temples of Agrigento). Opening hours: daily from 8:30 - 19:00, summer is often extended until sunset. The archeological and natural plain of the temples (or commonly Valle dei Templi) extends along a rocky ridge south of the modern city of Akragas. It consists of the archeological sites of five Greek temples. The park is organized in twelve zones, east and west of the entrance to Via Passegiata Archeologica. Visitors should pay attention to the sun in summer, because it is hot. Admission ticket: € 4.50 reduced: € 2.00. In combination with the archeological museum: ticket: € 6.00 reduced: € 3.00.
- The temple of Hercules (Tempio di Ercole). surviving almost a third of it
- The temple of the goddess Omonia (Tempio della Concordia). which survives almost entirely
- The temple of Hera (Template of Hera / Giunone).
- The temple of Olympian Zeus (Tempio di Giove Olimpico). with a fallen pillar with human body anatomy
- The small temple of Dioscuri (Tempio di Dioscure).
- The foundations of the place of rituals to the chthonic gods.
- The small tomb of Theron (Tomba di Terone).
- The temple of Asclepius (Tempio di Esculapio).
- Archaeological Museum, Via Passegiata Archaeologica, contrada S. Nicola. Opening hours: every Tuesday to Friday 9:00 - 19:00. Every Sunday, Monday and Friday 9:00 - 14:00. Summer is often extended until sunset.. The Agrigento Archaeological Museum was built in 1967 on the ruins of a monastery. It hosts many archeological finds from Agrigento and the surrounding area. Admission ticket: € 4.50 reduced: € 2.00. In combination with the plain of the temples ticket: € 6.00 reduced: € 3.00.
