The Algiers is its capital Algeria. It is located in the homonymous province of Algeria in the western part of a Mediterranean bay, at the foot of the Lesser Atlanta which is part of the greater Atlanta mountain range.

Arabic is spoken in Algiers, and very good French is spoken by almost all the inhabitants. All inscriptions are in Arabic and French, so it is advisable to have a basic knowledge of these languages. Only the youngest speak English.

Districts
- The Kasbach (Le Casbah) - Old Algiers is a famous picturesque district characterized by its compact, labyrinthine and fortified architecture. The old quarter is a World Heritage Site.
- The downtown - The center is a modern district with luxury shops and restaurants, museums, theaters and hotels.
- The Front de Mer (Front de mer) - The district was built in 1840 by the French architect Pierre-Auguste Frederic. It is adjacent to Kasbach and the port piers. The district has beautiful hotels, a casino, and the boulevard Boulevard de Che Guevara.
- Hydra (Hydra) and Ben Aknoun (Ben-Aknoun) - Two luxurious neighborhoods with mansions, embassies and political party offices.
- Sidi Fredj - Seaside resort 20 km west of the center with many luxury hotels.

Algiers has a 9 km long metro line and stops at all tourist destinations. The ticket costs € 0.30.

Car and taxi
You do not need a car in Algiers, because the sights are all very close and you can go on foot or by Metro and bus. Taxis are plentiful, but if you do not speak French it can be difficult to communicate. Younger taxi drivers also speak a little English. The lease is made by agreement before the race.

Most buses start and end at Gare de l'Agha Train Station.
