THE Achaia is an area located in its northern part Peloponnese. It borders on the east with Corinth, to the south with Arcadia and to the southwest with Ilia. The capital of the prefecture is Patras, the third largest city in Greece, which is also characterized as the main shipping port of the country to western Europe.
