Belgrade
The Belgrade (Serbian: Београд, meaning White City), is its capital Serbia.

Belgrade is the largest city in the former Yugoslavia and the 4th largest in Balkans after Constantinople, the Athena, the Bucharest and ThessalonikiIt is one of the oldest European cities built by the Celts in the 3rd century BC. In ancient times it was known as Singidunum. The name Belgrade was first mentioned in 878 AD. A Belgrade family owned land there. The city is located on the banks of the Danube, a tributary of the Danube, in the northern part of Serbia. Its population is 1,756,534. The University of Belgrade is the largest and oldest university in Serbia.

How to move
Belgrade's transport system consists of buses (112 lines), trams (3 lines) and trolleybuses (8 lines). There is also a local railway network that connects Belgrade with the suburbs and has six lines and 41 stations.
There is also a huge network of car rental companies such as Reviews,Hertz, Imperial Belgrade.
What to see
- Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan Park. Belgrade Fortress is the landmark of the city. It is located at the top of Sumadija hill which dominates the tip of the Danube and Sava rivers. It was built by the Celtic tribes and expanded by the Romans. The emperor Justinian rebuilt it. When Belgrade was occupied by the Austrians, between 1717-1739, who were planning operations against the Turks, the Belgrade Fortress was rebuilt, with new forts under the supervision of the Italian engineer Andrea Canaro.

Museums
- Belgrade city museum. The Belgrade Museum is housed in an 18th-century mansion housed by the wife of Milos Obrenovic, the creator of the Principality of Serbia.
- National Museum of Serbia, Democracy Square / Trg Republike. closed for renovation. is the largest and oldest museum in Serbia.
- Nikola Tesla Museum, Krunska 51, ☎ 381 (0) 11 24 33 886. is a museum dedicated to the work of the Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla, known for his discoveries in the electricity industry. The museum is housed in a mansion from 1929
- Aviation Museum (airport area). The museum has more than 200 aircraft used by the Serbian and Yugoslav air forces, aeronautical clubs and companies, ranging from gliders to helicopters and fighter jets. Some of the museum's collection aircraft are the only surviving examples of their type, such as the Fiat G.50. The museum also features wreckage from US and NATO aircraft shot down during the 1990s, including the wreckage of an American F-117 Nighthawk stealth aircraft. In addition, the collection has more than 130 aircraft engines, radar, rockets, various aeronautical instruments, more than 20,000 books and technical documents, as well as more than 200,000 photographs.

Youth bars are located in the area of the University and in the "Skadarlija" district. In summer, Belgrade's nightlife is concentrated on the banks of the Sava River. "Spavlovi" are river boats that have been turned into nightclubs.
