THE Venice (Italian Venezia) is a city in northeastItaly, capital of the region Veneto.

How to get there
By air
The nearest airport is the airport Marco Polo in Mestre inland. From there there is a bus every half hour to Piazzale Roma.
A little further is the airport Treviso, which serves Ryanair, Wizzair and Transavia. There is a bus from there.
There is a small runway on Lido Island, between the lagoon and the Adriatic, which serves only private pilots from Schengen countries.

By road
Cars can only reach the western entrance of the city (Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto), where there is the largest car park in Europe. In Piazzale Roma parking is expensive, 26 € / 12h, 30 € / 24h. An alternative is to park inland and then approach by boat or train.
