The Municipality of Syros - Ermoupolis is now the only municipality on the island. It is housed in the town hall of Ermoupolis, -a three-storey building on the front and two-storey at the back with rich architectural decoration which is located in Miaouli Square and was built according to the plans of the German architect E. Ziller at the end of the 19th century-, while administratively includes Syros, Gyaros as well as their neighboring islands. It was created with the Kallikratis Program from the merger of the pre-existing municipalities of Ano Syros, Ermoupolis and Poseidonia. SYROU TOWN HALL Venizelou, is three-storey to Miaouli Square and, due to the difference in height, two-storey on the back road. which had not been executed, a painting decoration was made by the painter Anna Vasilaki. Older roof paintings exist only in the left store on the ground floor. In addition to the municipal services, the town hall also houses the courts, the Mortgage Office, the Archaeological Museum and other public bodies (bar association, etc.).
