THE Castos, is one of the smallest islands in the Ionian Sea. It is located 6 miles from him NoseEtoloakarnania, where is the nearest approach port in Central Greece, southeast of Lefkada and south, at a distance of one mile, from the island of Kalamos, which is considered its appendage.
Generally
Kastos is the smallest inhabitable islet of the Ionian Islands and was annexed to Greece in 1864. It used to have a population in 1950, 285 inhabitants and an existing primary school. Today it belongs administratively to the prefecture of Lefkada and according to the 2011 census has 78 inhabitants.
