The Xinovrisi, Potistika, Melani, Paltsi are its villages Pelion.THE Xinovrisi is a village in the Prefecture of Magnesia built on the slopes of SE Pelion, at a distance of about 50 km from Volos and at an altitude of about 250 meters. The population of the village amounts to 213 inhabitants (2011 census).
At a glance
For the visitor, the beautiful beaches of Xinovrisi, Mourtitsa, Potistika, Kourites and Melani, which are located at a distance of about 5 km from Xinovrisi, and to which an asphalt road leads, are very interesting. Potistika is a small settlement. In the square of Xinovrisi there are some coffee shops, in which the visitor will find excellent and cheap food.
History
The original name of Xinovrisi was Bistinika or Bestinika. During the years of Ottoman rule, Bistinika was a mahalas (settlement) of Argalasti. The Ottoman period ended with the liberation of Thessaly in 1881. In 1914 Bistinika changed its name to Xinovrisi, from the name of the spring of the village from where sour water gushed.

- Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin, Xinovrisi (Above the square of Xinovrisi). building of 1778 according to the Pelion architecture of that time. The temple was recently renovated.
