THE Rodopolis is a city in Prefecture of Serres

At a glance

Rodopoli was recognized as a Community on August 2, 1926, by a relevant Decree published in the Government Gazette, which removed the settlement from the then existing settlement of the Railway Station of Porroia. The first inhabitants of the village were Pontian refugees, originating from Sourmena and especially from the village of Kelonsa (or Koinonissa). However, after the permanent settlement of the refugees and the official establishment of the Community of Rodopolis, there was a vertical increase in the number of stores, with a simultaneous expansion of the type (provision of services, trade, construction).
