• Belavista District (Barrio Bellavista) - This district lies at the foot of San Cristóbal hill where the zoo and botanical garden is located. It is a student neighborhood and is known for its vibrant nightlife.
• Providence (Providence) - Providence is located east of the historic center. It used to be a luxurious suburb. Many neoclassical-style villas were demolished in the 1970s and 1980s to build skyscrapers.
• Las Condes and Vitacura - Elegant and modern suburbs. They are considered the showcase of Chile's economic development.
