The Sistan and Baluchestan is a province of Iran.
At a glance
It is an arid and mountainous area where temperatures reach 50 degrees in the summer months. On winter nights, on the other hand, the temperature drops easily below zero. There have been many kidnappings of tourists in the area in the past. Nevertheless some travelers stop overnight in Zahedan to take one of the buses to the city Keta in the Pakistan. This route is not recommended for safety reasons. There is also a train link between Zahedan and Keta somewhere safer, but every fortnight. The trains are slow and in poor condition. They have no heating and the windows are broken.
