Zhongshan (official transliteration: Zhongshan; traditional foreign language: Chungshan), formerly known as Xiangshan, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, China. It is located in the south-central part of the Pearl River Delta, on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary.

Zhongshan was formerly known as "Fragrant Mountain", which was named for the many exotic flowers and plants in Wugui Mountain. In modern times, celebrities such as Sun Yat-sen, the first interim president of the Republic of China, and Tang Shaoyi, the first prime minister of the state, have emerged. In 1925, to commemorate Sun Yat-sen who had just passed away, Xiangshan was renamed Zhongshan.

The total area of ​​Zhongshan City is 1,783.67 square kilometers. The south is a low mountain and hilly area dominated by Wugui Mountain, and the north is a plain river network area.
