Jack London Lake. From the Yagodnoye Highway about 10 kilometers away from the fork is Jack London Lake. Cross the wooden bridge and proceed from here on a very bumpy dirt road about 60 kilometers south to the lake. Some of the smaller rivers have no bridges to cross; and throughout the summer, the area is full of Yagoda berries, which means that bears will come and go for food. In the lake, mosquitoes are expected to be infested, and there are excellent fishing places in the area, and there is even a good view to the distant snow-capped mountains across the water. Jack London Lake is reputed to own the entireRussian Far EastIt is one of the best fishing places.
