The nearest station to the Higashiunguchi Station of the Matsuyama Castle Ropeway is the Iyotetsu Road-myeon Tram's Okaido Station (the young train also passes through this station), and it takes about 5 minutes on foot. On the north side of Okaido Station is the entrance of the ropeway station, and on the east side there are the police station and the taxi stand of Iyo Railway. In addition, the Ropeway Higashiunguchi Station has an open sightseeing spot on the first floor.

Matsuyama Castle Honmaru is located on the top of a mountain about 132 meters above sea level in the center of the city. There are 4 hiking trails. The route usually taken by ordinary tourists starts from the East Tounkou on the east side. You can walk to the Toun Shrine and go up the mountain. There is also a ropeway. The other routes are mostly used by the locals for walking, and the roads of the hiking trails except the county hall rear climbing road have not been repaired.

  • Visiting time: 9:00-16:30 (varies in different seasons). The door is still open at night.
  • Time required for the visit: More than 90 minutes from Dongyunkou Station of the Ropeway.
  • Tickets: Tickets for the castle tower are 500 yen, and the ropeway round-trip ticket is 500 yen, both of which are adult fares.
  • Closed days: Open throughout the year. The door will be closed on December 29th at the end of the year due to sweeping.
  • Parking lot: Matsuyama Castle parking lot (charged, large buses can be parked), etc.
  • Barrier-free access: When accompanied by several people, wheelchair users can reach Honmaru Plaza.
  • Tour guide: There are volunteer guides and intersection information desks.
  • Experience activity: There is a free armor fitting place on the 1st floor of the Ottoman.
  • Fortress Festival: The first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of April each year. On Sunday, there are warriors and daimyo ranks.
