Yuanmou CountyAffiliated to the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, it is located in the northern part of the Central Yunnan Plateau, with Wuding to the east, Lufeng to the south, Dayao to the west, Huili, Sichuan to the north, Mouding to the southwest, and Yongren to the northwest. It is the discovery site of the earliest human "Yuanmou Ape Man" in China. The land area is 2021.69 square kilometers and the total population is 215,795 (2010). The government is located in Yuanma Town.
