Mojiang County is the only Hani autonomous county established on November 28, 1979 in China. As of 2006, Mojiang Hani Autonomous County has jurisdiction over 15 townships (towns), 163 villages, and 5 communities. In 2010, the total population of Mojiang Hani Autonomous County was 360,507. Among them, Hani has 9 branches and 235,000 people, accounting for 61.8% of the total population.
