It is a seaport city on the Indian Ocean coast north of East Africa and the largest city in Somalia. Mogadishu was supposed to be one of the top cities on the east coast of Africa and the capital of Somalia. However, due to years of civil war and warlord separatism, it fell into anarchy and was unable to actually perform its functions as an administrative center of the capital. Mogadishu is a large city with a population of more than three million people.
A devastating civil war has devastated this beautiful city for more than 20 years, and the scene of the past has been depleted, gradually disappearing from the ruins. Since 1991, various Islamic and/or militias under clans or warlords have controlled different areas of the city. During the months of the slowdown in 2006, the Islamic Courts Union has taken full control of the city.
