In 2016, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage. Huashan rock paintings fill the gap in the rock art heritage of China's World Cultural Heritage. A total of 38 rock paintings are listed as World Heritage Sites. These rock paintings were created between the 5th century BC and the 2nd century AD. They are the only examples of the bronze drum culture that existed in southern China at that time.

Among them, Mingjiang Huashan Cliff Mural in Ningming County has the largest scale.

In addition to the national key cultural relics protection unit "Huashan Rock Paintings", the rock art sites listed as World Cultural Heritage also have the autonomous region-level cultural relics protection unit "Mianjiang Huashan Rock Paintings" and the remaining 36 sites were approved by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on April 30, 2014.
