Perak (also known as Perak, Malay: Perak) is one of the thirteen states of Malaysia and the second largest among the 11 states in the Malay Peninsula. It covers an area of approximately 21,000 square kilometers, and is connected to the northeast of Malaysia in the north. The border between Malaysia and Thailand, Kedah, Penang to the northwest, Kelantan and Pahang to the east, and Selangor to the south. The Strait of Malacca is in the west of Perak.
"Perak" means silver in Malay, probably from the silver color of tin, the main product in Perak. In addition, it is also said that the place name of Perak actually originated from the fish in the river, shining like silver in the sun.
