Huangshan Mountain was originally called Yishan, because of the black peaks of the rock and the blue sky. Later, it was said that Emperor Xuanyuan Huangdi once practiced alchemy and became immortal here, and Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty believed in Taoism, so it was changed to "Huangshan" on June 17th in the sixth year of Tianbao (747 AD).
Xu Xiake, a traveler and geographer from the Ming Dynasty, visited Huangshan twice and said in admiration: "The return of the Five Sacred Mountains does not look at the mountains, and the return of Huangshan does not look at the mountains." In 1979, Deng Xiaoping inspected Huangshan and instructed "to be a little ambitious and get the Huangshan brand out." Xu Xiake commented that Huangshan has "the majesty of Taidai, the steepness of Huashan, the clouds of Hengyue, the waterfalls of Kuanglu, the ingenious rocks of Yandang, and the beauty of Emei". And is hailed as "the world's most wonderful mountain" by the world.
Huangshan Mountain was selected as one of the first batch of national key scenic spots in 1982; Huangshan Mountain was selected as one of China's top ten scenic spots in 1986, and it is the only mountain scenic spot among China's top ten scenic spots; Huangshan Mountain Scenic Spot as one of the top ten scenic spots in China in December 1990 The dual heritage of culture and nature was included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO; it was selected as a World Geopark in February 2004.
Scenery
The jagged marble peaks of Huangshan Mountain and the peculiarly shaped pine trees on the peaks provide artists and photographers with breathtaking pictures. The mountains and the passages have been repaired and there is also a cable car. Most tourists can enjoy the beauty of this fairyland.
Flora and fauna
A total of 1,450 kinds of plants have been found in Huangshan National Park. The most peculiar is Huangshan pine. This pine tree grows from the hard granite stone and is close to the granite stone. According to their different shapes and charms, people gave them appropriate natural, elegant and interesting names, such as Yingke Pine, Black Tiger Pine, Wolong Pine, Longclaw Pine, Tanhai Pine, Tuanjie Pine and so on. There are approximately 470 species of recorded animals. Squirrels and small lizards are often seen on the ground.

From Huangshan Airport to Huangshan Scenic Area, you can first take a bus or taxi to Tunxi Bus Station, and then take the bus bound for Huangshan Scenic Area.

- Huangshan Railway Station, located on Huangshan East Road, Tunxi District, Huangshan City, has trains to and from Nanjing, Shanghai and other cities. Huangshan Railway Station has a shuttle bus to Huangshan Scenic Area, which takes about 70 minutes.

- Tangkou Bus Station (South Gate of Huangshan Scenic Area), Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Hefei, Wuhu and other cities all have long-distance bus services to and from Huangshan.
- Tunxi Bus Station, located in the downtown area of Huangshan City (Tunxi District), has a shuttle bus to Huangshan Scenic Area.

Travel around
Namdaemun Route
The south gate of Huangshan Scenic Area is located in Tangkou Town. Currently, visitors to Huangshan Scenic Area usually go uphill from the South Gate. There are four transfer points: Transfer Center, Hot Spring, Ciguang Pavilion, and Yungu Temple.
- Take the bus from the scenic transfer center to Yungu Temple (Houshan) and go up the mountain
- Take the bus from the scenic transfer center to Ciguang Pavilion (Qianshan) and go up the mountain
North Gate Route
There is no shuttle bus line at the North Gate, and you need to charter, drive or take a taxi to get there. The North Gate Ticket Office is located in Furongling. You can walk to Songguan Ropeway Station.
Exploring the ropeway
There are currently 4 ropeways in Huangshan Scenic Area, namely: Yuping Ropeway (Ciguang Pavilion→Yuping Tower), Yungu Old Ropeway (Yungu Temple→Bailing), Yungu New Ropeway (Yungu Temple→Little Dream), and North Gate Taiping Cableway (Songguan→Danxia Peak).
