Abéché - a city in eastern Chad, located on the Wadaj highlands. Abéché is the administrative center of the Wadaj Region, Ouara Department. The fourth largest city in the country.
Characteristic
The city is a regional trading center for cattle breeders. Enterprises from the food industry operate there. From the middle of the 19th century, Abéché was the capital of the Wadaj Sultanate. Moreover, from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century, it was a slave trade center.
