Agritourism - a form of tourism based on accommodation in active farms. In the second half of the 20th century, it was known in Poland as vacations in the countryside. Its aim is to provide tourists with areas with little development of tourist infrastructure and increasing the profitability of farms.

Quite paradoxically, it is easiest to find agritourism farms in the areas where tourism is the most developed. Even there, due to the prices and some seclusion, they are an interesting alternative to hotels, hostels and boarding houses. In smaller towns, they are usually the only available form of accommodation.

The standard of accommodation varies, from a separate multi-bed room with a kitchen and bathroom shared by tourists and hosts, through rooms with private sanitary facilities, to small multi-room "apartments" with a separate kitchen, bathrooms and a common room. In some cases, these are guesthouses, with the possibility of accommodating a dozen or more people in several groups.

In addition to accommodation, agritourism farms can provide food (often an additional attraction, for example, home-made sausages or bread, fresh fish, game or undergrowth).

Most farms are supplied with local maps and guides. Some of the hosts organize additional attractions (sleigh rides, wagon, carriage or horseback rides, mini-rental of water equipment or bicycles).

Accommodation prices start from a dozen or so zlotys per person per day. The longer you stay, the easier it is to negotiate prices.
