Altes Land - part of the floodplain on the southern bank of the Elbe in Hamburg and in the northern part Lower Saxony. It covers in Lower Saxony the areas around the towns of Stade and Buxtehude as well as: the commune of York, the commune of Lühe and the village of Rübke of the commune of Neu Wulmstorf. In Hamburg, it includes the districts of Neuenfelde, Cranz and Francop.
