Amos is a city ofAbitibi-Témiscamingue to Quebec to Canada. It is nicknamed the 'cradle of theAbitibi »Since it is the first city of this region.
Understand
The name of the town is in honor of Lady Gouin, née Alice Amos, wife of Sir Lomer Gouin who was Prime Minister of Quebec when the municipality was founded in 1914. It is located in the heart of theAbitibi at the center of the region's main traffic routes.
Amos is the only major city located along the Harricana River that played a leading role in the early 20th century.e century in the development and colonization of the region by linking the mining centers between them.
