Appenzell Innerrhoden - Appenzell Innerrhoden

Appenzell Innerrhoden - the smallest after Basel-City canton, St. Switzerland, located in the eastern part of the country. Its seat is in the town Appenzell, whose districts are located in three municipalities (Bezirk) (Appenzell, Rüte and Schwende). In order to improve the management of the village, a fire supervision commune (German: Feuerschaugemeinde) was established in the 16th century, covering these three districts.
