Ax-les-Thermes is a city of Pyrenees located in the Upper Ariège valley. It is both a spa town and a winter sports destination. The city has indeed one of the largest resort of Pyrenees.

- 1 Montségur castle (in Montségur) –
castle known as "cathare", built in 1206 in 1 207 m altitude. Place of legends, such as the treasure of the Cathars, that of the Templars, the Gold of Toulouse or even the Grail. Accessible from Prades or from Camurac by the “Cathar trail” (GR367) along the “Gorges de la Frau” (integral biological reserve of the Gorges de la Frau).
- 2 Trimouns talc quarry (factory and departure of the cable car in Luzenac) – largest open pit talc quarry in the world. 1 guided tour per day from mid-May to mid-October, information at the Ax-les-Thermes tourist office.
- 3 Camurac (in L'Aude) – Camurac ski resort
- 4 Prades – Saint-Pierre church with two identical and opposite entrances. Many fountains including "la Marianne". On the “Cathar trail” (GR367) and the “Chemin des Bonshommes” (GR107)
