Urban centers
- Ağcabədi - Capital of the district of the same name and birthplace of Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the father of Azerbaijani classical and opera music.
- Beyləqan - One of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan located in the triangle between the Kura and Aras rivers in the Mil steppe.
- Kürdəmir - It is located on one of the main Azerbaijani railway lines running east-west connecting the capital, Baku, with the rest of the country.
- Saatlı - Chief town of the homonymous district.
- Ucar - Chief town of the homonymous district at 17 m a.s.l.
- Zardab - Chief town of the homonymous district. Here was born Hasan bey Zardabi, founder of the first Azerbaijani newspaper.
- İmişli - Capital of the homonymous district which is located in an area near the Aras river.
