Balzers lies in the principality Liechtenstein on the Rhine.

Balzers is the southernmost municipality in the Principality of Liechtenstein, it has approx. 4,500 inhabitants. The parish includes the former villages Balzers and Times with the hill of Gutenberg Castle.

Gutenberg Castle, the landmark of Balzers
- 1 Gutenberg Castle. Landmark of the place, built around the year 1200. The castle stands on a 70 m high rock spur, it is owned by the State of Liechtenstein. From the beginning of May to the end of October, the castle complex can be visited by appointment, the outer bailey is freely accessible all year round.
- 2 St. Peter's Chapel. The little church is more than 700 years old.
- 3 Parish Church of St. Nicholas. The parish church, built with black Balzner marble, was completed in 1912.
- Old graveyard. Now park, by the parish church.
- 4 Mariahilf Chapel. Built in the 17th century.
