Bang Rak is in Ko Samui and is known for its Big Buddha statue. Due to its proximity, the area is commonly referred to as "Big Buddha Beach."

Bang Rak is not one of Samui's better beaches for beach activities like swimming or sunbathing. It is a very busy place as ferries depart from near here to Ko Pha Ngan and Bang Rak lies under the flight path of planes using the airport.
