The Lower North Shore is the easternmost region of Quebec. It is located on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Understand
The territory of the region corresponds in fact to that of a regional county municipality which bears the name of Gulf of St. Lawrence, but which was previously called Basse-Côte-Nord. This territory of more than 40 000 km2 is located between the Indian reserve of Natashquan and the Labrador in the east of Quebec. It includes several picturesque villages spread over the coastline along 37 km without road access. In fact, only Blanc-Sablon is reachable by road from Labrador.
Note that the far east of the region is in a different time zone, so you have to move forward one hour compared to the rest of the Quebec.

Other destinations
To go
With the exception of Blanc-Sablon, all the villages of the Lower North Shore are only accessible by boat or plane. The boat is the best way to reach them and there is sea transport from the rest of the North Coast. For its part, Blanc-Sablon can be reached by road from the Labrador by following route 510 which becomes route 138 at Quebec. Note however that, even if route 138 is the main road in the rest of the North Shore, it does not join the portion of route 138 in the Lower North Shore since it ends at Natashquan. There is also a ferry between Blanc-Sablon and the island of Newfoundland.
Circulate
The boat is the best way to get from one village to another.
