the Caspian Sea Basin is the westernmost region of Kazakhstan. It stretches from the southern tip of the mountains of theUrals, through the lowlands of the Caspian Sea, to the shores of the Caspian Sea. This region of 436 000 km2 is partly located west of the Urals River and therefore usually considered to be in Europe. The main port cities of the country and some Soviet-style seaside resorts line the seaside. The region includes the provinces of Atyrau, Mangystau and West Kazakhstan. If you are outside the three provincial capitals, Atyrau, Aktau and Oral, respectively, you are either employed in the oil sector or you explore unexplored territories!
