Birstonas - city na Lithuania, on the Nemunas, south of Kaunas. Birštonas is one of the four Lithuanian spas right next door Druskininkai, Neringa and Palanga.
Characteristic
Located on the right bank of the Nemunas, Birštonas is an important Lithuanian health resort, where, surrounded by pine forests, patients enjoy numerous sanatoriums. Mineral waters contain, among others potassium and magnesium, which is especially recommended for people with problems of the digestive and circulatory systems.

By plane
Vilnius airport is nearby. PLL LOT airlines offer direct connections from Warsaw, and in the near future such a connection will be served by Wizz Air.
By rail
There is no railway station in the city, and the nearest ones are several dozen kilometers from the city.
By car
The A16 Vilnius-Marijampole national road runs through Birštonas.
By ship
Despite the possibility of sailing on the Nemunas by boat, it is impossible to get to Birštonas due to the lack of river cruise ports in the city and its surroundings. However, you can rent a canoe or a boat in the city and swim among the surrounding forests.

Nearest neighborhood
Being in a spa, you must go to its immediate vicinity. There is really a lot to see. In the village of Nemajunai, in the farm of the folk artist Rimante Butkuve, you can see wooden angels, and in the local wooden church in the neo-Gothic style, there is a kilim made of traditional belts of young married women with magical powers. In turn, in the "serpent gorge", in the former village of Smalinicia, there is a sculpture park. The entrance to it is guarded by two snakes. In the center of the square, a large stone altar was carved, guarded by wajdelotka (pagan priestesses) and the most important pagan god - Perkunas. The village of Pupasodis, located in the "Dainavos Parkas", is decorated with sculptures by the folk artist - Uzhkurnis, based on the stories of the famous Lithuanian writer V. Kreve. In the village of Panemuninku you will find a forest museum. In the local forestry it is possible to order a trip, horseback riding, carriage, and sleigh rides in winter. Moreover, in the vicinity of the Neman River, you will find canoe and boat rentals.
