Bogdaj - Bogdaj

Bogdaj is a village of about 500 inhabitants, located in Greater Poland Voivodeshipin the southwestern part Ostrów County and in the northwest of the Sosno commune. It is located approximately 25 km southwest of the center Ostrów Wielkopolski and is situated by the district road Garki - A pine tree.

What is worth emphasizing, the village is situated in a picturesque setting "Barycz Valley" Landscape Parkand at the same time it is the lowest situated town in the whole commune (about 115 m above sea level). A small river flows through the village Polish Water.

Worth seeing

  • The main monument in Bogdaj is parish church Christ the King - its construction began on April 28, 1930, and the consecration of the completed church was made on the order of the Archbishop's Curia in Poznań, by Fr. Bartłomiej Piszczygłowa, dean of Odolanów, on May 8, 1932. It is a single-nave church, without style, with one wooden altar. A marble plaque in memory of the late Bogdaj parish priest murdered in Dachau was built into the side inner wall after the war. Fr. Antoni Tomiński.
  • There is also a primary school in the village, at which it stands figurine of St. Florian.
