Bon Accord is a housing estate in Tobago.
background
The long, straight Milford Road begins a few hundred meters north of Crown Point International Airport and merges into the Claude Noel Highway in the east. It is the heart of this residential area. A number of side streets branch off at right angles. The names of the districts Bon Accord, Canaan and Mount Pleasant go back to the time of Christian conversion when the churches established mission stations. Originally the flat land of the Bon Accord Estate was used as a sugar cane plantation, later cocoa and coconut palms were also planted. Remains of sugar mills can still be found from this bygone era. At the eastern end of Canaan there is also a small coconut plantation. The Shirvan Road begins between Canaan and Mount Pleasant and leads to the north coast via the villages of Buccoo, Black Rock and Plymouth.
