Brienz BE is a Swiss Municipality in the canton Bern. It is located on Lake Brienz and belongs to the Interlaken district.

By train
From Germany you can travel via Basel / Bern with a direct ICE to Interlaken Ost, where you have to change to the narrow-gauge Zentralbahn, which leads over the Brünig to Lucerne. All trains stop in Brienz.
In the street
From Bern via the A6 motorway and from Spiez continue on the A8 road along the south bank of Lake Brienz to the Brienz exit. From this the main road number 6/11 leads back a little way to the north bank to reach Brienz. This could also be used from Interlaken to drive along the north shore of Lake Brienz. From Lucerne it would also be possible to travel via the Brünig Pass.

Brienz is located on the Brünigbahn between Interlaken and Lucerne, which is operated by Zentralbahn. BLS Schifffahrt opens up Brienz from the lake. The Brienz-Rothorn-Bahn runs from Brienz to the Brienzer Rothorn.
The following routes are used by Postbuses: Brienz – Schwanden – Hofstetten, Brienz – Brünig, Brienz – Axalp. Since 1988 Brienz has had a connection to the A8 motorway (exit no. 29).

- One of the sights is also the Brienz market. As early as 1626, Brienz received the permit to hold an annual market. This was initially held on Verenentag (September 1st). In 1627 the market was moved to September 7th and in 1761 to the 2nd Wednesday in November. Nowadays the market lasts until the following Thursday and attracts large crowds.
