Brussels Airport is by far the largest airport in Belgium with more than 23 million passengers in 2015. The airport is located on the territory of the municipalities of Steenokkerzeel, Zaventem and Machelen, northeast of Brussels. From Brussels Airport, flights land and take off from all continents (with the exception of Antarctica).

Brussels Airport is a busy international airport with flights to and from all continents. Most flights are operated by Brussels Airlines, which has Brussels Airport as its home port.

By train

Below the airport there is a train station that has direct connections to all parts of Belgium and also Amsterdam. An additional surcharge must be paid for traveling to and from the airport by train.

By car

By car, the airport can be reached from the A201, which immediately connects to the R0, the ring road around Brussels. At the airport there is parking for 10,600 cars, divided into 3 car parks.

By bus

The airport has its own bus station at level 0 (below the arrivals terminal) with three platforms. Platforms A and B are used for De Lijn buses. De Lijn has direct connections to, among others, Mechelen, Vilvoorde, Zaventem, Brussels and Leuven, referred to as the START lines. Platform C is used by the STIB, which operates a bus line with only seven stops from the center of Brussels. Several hotels and car parks near Brussels Airport offer a shuttle bus to the airport.

There is a protected path between the center of Zaventem and the airport that can be used by both pedestrians and cyclists.
