Archaeological dig sites

  • Kurgan from Alexandrovo: Burial mound from the 4th century BC. The interior is decorated with well-preserved frescoes.
  • Bailovo Caves: Several caves with over 200 pictures, many of them related to the different phases of the moon.
  • Kabile National Archaeological Reserve: 6 km outside of Yambol, the museum is open in summer from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and in winter from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Buses run 9 times a day between Yambol and the museum.
  • Thracian barrow near Sozopol
