The Basque coast is a part of the French coastline. Extending from the mouth of the Adour to that of the Bidassoa, it corresponds to the southern part of the coast neo-Aquitaine, as an extension of the Silver Coast. Forming the maritime part of the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques (region Aquitaine), it continues in Spain under the name Costa vasca. Its capital is the city of Biarritz.
