Carcass Island (Isla del Rosario in Spanish) is one of the islands belonging to Falkland Islands.
To know
It is a favorite destination for ornithologists due to the fact that it is one of the few islands in the country without rats, cats or other predatory animals introduced by man, so farmed land birds have not been affected.

It is located in the northwestern part of the Falkland Islands. The highest point on the island reaches 220 m.

By plane
Visitors to Carcass Island can arrive via the government air service.
As an alternative to flying, you can arrive on one of the many cruise ships that stop on the island every summer.

What see
Carcass Island boasts one of the largest populations of songbirds. Other birds that are present are gentoo penguins, Magellanic penguins, king cormorants and the striated caracaras (known as Johnny Rook). Marine mammals (sea lions, elephant seals, dolphins) are regular visitors to these beaches.

What to do
There are no guided hikes, but the island is small enough to easily walk around. A walk around the northern half of the island and then back up the central ridge to the settlement can be done over the course of a full day (including the necessary wildlife-watching breaks).

Where to eat
Limited quantities of food are available for purchase at the settlement; fresh produce must be purchased a Port Stanley and take it with you. A completely independent stay may be possible, but must be agreed with the owners prior to arrival.
Where stay
There is only one settlement on the island within which accommodation is available. The houses available are heated and have full kitchens.
