Carel is a region located in northwestern Russia. It is one of the most attractive regions of Russia for tourists, due to its lakes and enchanting nature.

Geography

It borders with Finland in the west with the Murmansk region, in the north with the Arkhangelsk region, in the east with the Vologda region and in the southeast with the Leningrad region. It is located on the northeast coast of Karelia The White Sea.

Climate

The weather is changeable. The climate is mild with a lot of rainfall. Winter is very cold, but usually without severe frosts. Summer is short and hot, with a lot of rainfall. Even in June it sometimes snows.

With the aircraft

Petrozavodsk Airport is located 12 km northwest of the city, and is known by the same name as the city. It receives flights from Moscow, Arkhangelsk, Anapa and Cherepovets. Through international flights it has flight connections with Helsinki.

By car

The main road that passes through the territory of Carelia - St. Petersburg-Murmansk M18, E105.
