The town is located north of the province of Hainaut, not far from the Flanders.

There is no train station in the town. The nearest stations are those of Tournai To 16 km and D'Avelgem (To 7 km).

He has two buses a day that go to Pottes: one in the morning and one in the afternoon

To see
- 1 Church Pottes – The church dates from 1432 and was built in Tournai stone, which came via the Scheldt, by the lords of Guermignies. The tower of the old church is listed and it was the only part of the church which escaped the violent fire which devastated the church in 1911. After this fire, the building was rebuilt in neo-Gothic style, around 1912. It is because of the frequent quarrels between the lords of Guermignies and those of Quesnoy about their places in the church that the first, wanting to end it, obtained the permission to erect a religious building in their field. Out of spite, the lords of Quesnoy built a chapel in their castle. And that’s why the church is not at the geographic center of the village.
Do
There are many possibilities for walks in the surrounding area which can be done on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. A few kilometers away, we find the Mont-St-Aubert and the Mont-de-l'Enclus which are touristy and offer beautiful walks (possibilities to eat and have a drink on site).
Event
There are 2 local festivals called "Ducasses":
- Little Ducasses – It takes place on the Sunday following Saint John (in June) and therefore it takes place in the spring.
- Grande Ducasse – It takes place in September and coincides with the Tournai fair. It is celebrated for 3 days.
There is also the agricultural fair of Pottes which takes place every year on the 2nd weekend of September.
