At the entrance to the village, tourists from Europe have to pay 100 Nepalese rupees as entrance fee (as of 2010). In addition to access to the temple, you also get a good insight into country life. So you can see that the village has no regulated water supply, the residents (mostly women) stand at a water basin at relatively vague times and wait for the precious water. The village road leads west up to the area of ​​the temple, it is almost completely surrounded by buildings that once served as accommodation for pilgrims.

In the middle of the Tempelhof stands the Changu Narayan, an ornately decorated Vishnu temple, the largest and also one of the youngest buildings in the complex. There is one on its back Chakra pillar, it dates from AD 464. and thus contains the oldest Sanskrit characters in the entire valley. Some smaller temples are also part of the complex. The most important is probably the Chhinnamasta Temple, it is dedicated to a local manifestation of the goddess Kali. Other small temples are Shiva and Lakshmi assign.

Also worth mentioning are statues from the 6th and 7th centuries, the most famous one Garuda with wings, who wears a snake around his neck, represents another Vishnu represent how he as Narasimha, half human, half lion, conquering a demon.
