this is a Checklist for equipment on bike trips. It cannot be complete. In addition, none of the items of equipment mentioned claim to be indispensable. In theory, a bike tour is only possible with a credit card in your jersey pocket.

The list is intended to help you put together your own personal bike luggage.

General tips

  • Save copies of ID cards, photos and addresses digitally and store them on the Internet. (Here, however, access by means of suitable passwords etc. is indispensable, but no guarantee against unauthorized use by third parties. - So only for experienced users or those who do not care!)
  • Store the material list / parts list for the bike at someone at home or at a trusted dealer.
  • Obtain information about local diseases (malaria, yellow fever, etc.) and, if necessary, get vaccinations in good time. The health department can help here.
  • Take a first-class travel kit with you.

Travel planning

Ready-made first aid bags from bicycle shops are recommended. But these should be supplemented with aspirin, an agent against ticks and mosquitoes. Sun cream and ointment, which cares for the skin in the event of sunburn (AfterSun), should also not be missing. And after ten years you should also pay attention to the expiration date of the utensils.
