Chelsea is a town in the region Outaouais to Canada. It is located north of Gatineau, Quebec, at about 10 km north ofOttawa and is part of the national capital region. According to the 2016 Canadian census, the population of Chelsea is 6,909 people. The Municipality of Chelsea includes the southern and eastern regions of Gatineau Park and is bordered on the east by the Gatineau River.

During World War II, the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) wanted to understand more about the propagation of radio waves and how it is affected by Earth's ionosphere, so that German radio transmissions could be intercepted from a distance. more efficient way. In collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC), the MRC established a “field strength station” in Chelsea in 1941 to monitor the size of the ionosphere. Today there is no trace of the cabins or antennas that have been erected on the property.

The legal age for consuming alcohol in Quebec, including Chelsea, is 18 years old. It's different from the rest of Canada, where the age is 19.

Since Chelsea is a small town with a lot of green space, there isn't much of a nightlife scene. There is only one bar in the area and no nightclub. However, to enjoy the nightlife, there are plenty of bars, nightclubs and casinos in Gatineau; the journey to get there does not take more than 25 min by car.
