Chukhung is a small village in Nepal south of Mount Everest.

geography
It is located at 4,730 meters above sea level. At this altitude there are no more trees or shrubs but a little undergrowth.
Climate
Even in summer, due to the altitude, the climate is very cold so take plenty of warm clothes.
To arrive
The main trail leading to the village is coming from Dingboche. It takes approximately three hours to arrive.
Knife
One of the trekkings most preferred is to climb the 5,546 meters of the hill Chukhung Ri, it takes about 6 hours to get there and back.
Buy
There are no stores, but the lodges stock up on necessities such as camera film, batteries, throat lozenges, bandages etc - but remember that prices go up with altitude - and Chukhung is pretty high!

The village offers few options and the lodges have practically the same facilities.
