Ciudad Rodrigo is a city in the Spanish region Castile and Leon. It is in the west of the Salamanca Province around 30 km east of the border Portugal.

The agricultural town was originally called Miróbriga, in Roman times Augustóbriga. Its current name goes back to the 12th century. She has been as a conjunto histórico artístico protected.
